SIAMS - Outstanding OFSTED - Good
In July 2017 we secured 3 grammar school places. All 7 children reached the expected standard and three children achieved greater depth in all subjects. The average score was 110. We also achieved positive progress in reading, writing and maths. This placed us first equal in the county for attainment. Please see the report below.
In July 2016 all 8 children who sat the 11+ examinations passed to grammar school. Our latest SATs results placed us second in Gloucestershire and 254th in the UK.
We are very proud of our school and its achievements. Our most recent OFSTED report in December 2017 identified many excellent features affirming that 'Good teaching contributes to consistently good achievement by all groups of pupils. Teachers have high expectations and continuously push for that extra effort in learning.'. For full details please follow the links to the OFSTED website at the bottom of this page.
In September 2014 the school was subject to a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) and was graded as outstanding in all areas, identifying that the school promotes 'An environment where children are valued as individual and whose talents are given every opportunity to flourish' The full report can be read following the link below.
A subject inspection of our provision for teaching citizenship was very positive finding that 'Pupils are encouraged to behave thoughtfully, respect each other and demonstrate a good understanding of right and wrong. The school ethos and atmosphere reinforce this well; the subsequent impact on pupils’ attitudes and behaviour is impressive.' The leadership and management of the school in this area was judged to be outstanding. Read the full report on the link below.
