School Lunches

Lunch time is from 12.15 to 1.15pm with the children divided into two groups, KS 1 and KS 2. One group eats their lunch in the hall while the other plays. The children may bring a packed lunch to school or they can order a hot lunch. Catering in school is provided by Edwards and Ward. There is a daily choice of four options including a vegetarian option and the weekly menus are rotated over a 3 week period. The current menu can be seen by following the link below.

The meals are very popular with the children with over half the school eating them on a regular basis.

Meals, which currently cost £2.20 per day, are paid for online using Parent Pay which is quick and easy to use. Follow the link to view the web site.

Children can bring a packed lunch from home. Please use a named, sealed container and include a drink. We encourage children to have a healthy lunch so request that fizzy drinks, sweets and chocolate are not included.

Free school meals

Free school meals are available to some children according to family income.  It’s important to register for entitlement to free school meals, even if your child has a packed lunch – this is so we can receive additional funding (called the pupil premium) which we can use to help your child.

Children are entitled to Free School Meals if their parents, carers or guardians receive any of the following:

  • Income support
  • Income based job seekers allowance
  • Income related employment and support allowance
  • Guarantee pension credit
  • Child Tax Credit, but not Working Tax Credit, and an annual income lower than the limit set by the Government

If you’ve any general questions about free school meals, please ask us at the Office (or send an email)
